I am considering getting this Browning Apollo recurve but wanted to know what year this is? Also, does anyone know what wood is used for the riser?

NICE!
My bet is that the wood is brazillian rosewood. As for year, let me guess 1963.

I agree Brazilian Rosewood and 1964

Looks like you snagged a good one, and a home made leather quiver and carrying case to boot!
50 years or or "40 something?" - never try to pin down the age of a beautiful lady. ;)

TonyW, I like how you're thinking.
On another site someone was saying those were made from 1963-67 and based upon your serial number, he figured 1966. I cannot argue with that, but still a bow that many of us would like to fondle, regardless of her age.

Thanks. I'm trying to get it this weekend. I haven't been in the market to buy a bow for a while then saw this for sale. And I have a 1964 White Wing with Brazilian rosewood as well. So when I saw this Browning and it's beautiful riser, I just had to have it.
