Title: 1953-56 bear grizzly static recurve brace height
Post by: Brentski on September 15, 2014, 10:20:00 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum, so please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong place.  I recently acquired a Bear Grizzly Static Recurve.  By the markings and shape of the bow I was able to roughly date the bow to between 1953-57.  It seems in excellent condition.  It is a 62" and I bought a string for it (62 AMO).  I read somewhere that the brace height should be 6 1/2" to 6 3/4".  I was wondering if anyone could help me find a resource for determining if this is true.  Any leads that might point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome Brentski. You came to the right place for all things to do with old and/or collectible bows; 6 1/2 is a real good brace height for that bow. Where you might see that in writing I do not know.
This site has lots of info on that group of bows-everything except brace height. Navigation is on the extreme left.
