Title: Wing Chaparral
Post by: brianbfree on October 06, 2014, 05:11:00 PM
I just purchased a Wing Chaparral 60" AMO and 56#@28inches. It has the number CA274 on the riser as well. I know it predates Head Archery and it is in very good condition. Are there any Wing collectors out there that can tell me anything I don't already know(which is everything I just listed).

All I know is they were one of the nicest Wing bows. Good score!

Have you done a search on here and Archerytalk.com?  I only had one Wing and gave it away so I don't know anything either.  Sorry about that.  I am pretty sure that some Wing collectors hang around the traditional forum  on Archerytalk.  I haven't been there much in the last couple of years but do remember reading some discussions about Wings

I found a picture of the Wing bows in 1969, it had a Chaparral in it.

I had one, it was also 56#. Attractive combination of black micarta and reddish wood, possibly bubinga. Mine didnt have the inserts on the front of the limbs that I believe was on later versions. It was a stout 56#. I suspect 69 might have been the first year, I know it wasn't in the 1965 catalog I had as a kid. I donated mine to the raffle at a shoot in Chester Texas several years ago as I recall.  Maybe you have it......McK
