So anyways I got a 1964 Kodiak off of a buddy Doug Groch from Ohio about a dozen years ago or so. I
then got a 1964 Kodiak from Gary Sewell from Tennnesee. The serial numbers were consecutive! I
then learned that maybe Steve Ktitchens had bought the two bows from an old time dealer and sold them
separately at Cloverdale. I am friends with both of the guys so its not that incredible that I ended up
with both of them since I traded with both of them frequently. It was pretty incredible I saw the 174
bow on the auction site about two years later and bought it! I have had them for at least 10 years
but am going to be selling off a few bows so if they end up separated I wanted to share this pic.

Or just locate the first 173 and get the complete set.
Really shows the great penmanship of the last century. Today's kids can text like madmen, but don't have those graceful pen strokes.

The one from Sewell was once mine bubba !!

I got a couple from him. Unless you had the serial number recorded I think he got it from Kitchens. If
it was from you that would be really cool because THEN all of them would have come together from
different locations. I am going to post some interesting photos on the 7CEXXX serial numbers

Could be Steve I just recall selling him a 50#er.
-
He had several 64's Gary. I cleaned him out.

Atta boy !! I got a 65# maple window '59 from him years ago also.

Just out of Curiosity, do they all feel different i the hand or are they pretty close to the same?
Its neat that you found 3 consecutive bows.

Very cool Steve.Dont see that very often

Kind of points out the fact that the first digit of the serial number being the year of manufacture from 1965 to 1969 may hold true for bows made during those years but they are not the only ones...only reliable way to date old Bears is still by appearance and even then it can be tricky sometimes...nice set of bows...I just bought a 64 Kodiak today to replace the one I foolishly sold
