Title: Bear Magnesium "B" handle #1 limb brace
Post by: Charlie Lamb on November 23, 2014, 05:12:00 PM
I've got a question and a little story. First off what would be a ballpark on the brace height of a Magnesium "B" handle Bear with #1 limbs.

A while back I purchased a Magnesium handle TD. Not sure of the year and doesn't matter to me. I refinished it and it's not the ugly silver with black dimples riser it was. I love the bow it makes.

Anyway not long ago an old friend out west told me about a Magnesium riser he'd found at a garage sale in the small Wyoming town he lives in.
It is first generation.

He and I got together back in the spring and when he brought it out to show me I immediately recognized the riser.
Everything from the arrow rest to the covering of the arrow place with leather was my workmanship and style.

That bow had belonged to another old friend long since gone.

After some pleading I was able to make a trade for it and am waiting to do a little conservative clean up work on it.

8" is a good ballpark - know that some will brace more than 8 1/2"

It's shooting pretty good at 7 3/4". I may boost it up a quarter tomorrow and see what it does.

Thanks for the info.
