I stumbled upon a Groves spitfire magnum at an auction yesterday that was bundled with a couple other bows and got them cheap. This bow caught my eye but don't really know much about it. Admittedly I'm not a traditional guy but have shot traditional before and really just enjoy shooting. This bow is probably a 8-9/10 but could probably use a light cleanup. Can you guys help me out with info on this bow. History, age, value. Anything really. It needs a string so would like to find one for it, it's a 60 in. I believe. Thanks in advance

I did a internet search and they are a nest bow and sounds like you got a great deal :)

Bill, there are several threads about Harry Groves bows and his Dyna Stress method of pre-stressing the fiberglass. they were extremely well designed and built bows, quick as they come. Post some photos!!!!

Groves bows were made in New Mexico. There should be lots of info in the archives of this site.

Had a 60" Groves 'Dyna Stressed' recurve a while back. It was an excellent shooter. It was not the easiest bow to string-the tips are more re-curved than most. How about some pics of the bunch ya' got?

I have a habit of trying out all types of bows both modern and vintage, and the Spitfire is still on my list. They come around now and then, but never found the "right" one.

Can't figure out how to post pics.
