Title: Joe Caldwell - broadhead maker
Post by: Longbow1415 on July 25, 2015, 01:44:00 PM
Hi
Looking for any information that may be available for a gentleman named Joe Caldwell who made Bob Swinehart's Elephant Heads.

Bob Burton supplied me with some information, but if anyone knows anything about either the Broadhead or its maker, I'd be most greatful for any information you may be able to offer

Thank you

Joe Caldwell had a shop in Sun Valley California and made multiple variations of the Caldwell Head in 1969. Those were very different than the heads you have pictured. Maybe Wade Phillips will chime in with more info.

I can't post pics from my phone on here for some reason. The heads pictured here look just like the head on Bob's elephant arrow pictured on page 184 of "Sagittarius "
I was told that Howard's elephant arrows made by Joe were gas welded and Bob's were tig welded.
