Post by: RHaberland on March 10, 2017, 04:31:00 PM
I am in the market for a Grumley bow in excellent condition to add to my collection. If anyone knows of a great one I should consider please let me know. Thanks,

You might want to move your post to the classifieds. Or at least post a copy of it there.

Several have shown up on the big auction site recently.....
They don't seem to be fetching what they were several years ago but not cheap by any means!

Especially "excellent condition". Or a "great one" for that matter.
Good Luck!!

Mr Wade
Do you have any form of inventory control or cataloging of your collection. It would be interesting to see a break down categorically and chronologically.
To think all of this is in the basement of your home....Whoa!!!!

Larry -

Yes, I have an Excel Spreadsheet of the bows with major details and values. I also have insurance which allows me to get a good night's sleep.

I have most bows categorized as follows...

1 - Manufacturer, e.g., Bear
2 - Model e.g., Kodiak
3 - Year, Chronologically, e.g., 1959
4 - Length, e.g., 56", 60", or 64"
5 - Riser Characteristics, e.g., Sight Windows, Maple, Purple Heart, Rosewood, Bubinga, Wedge, Long, Short, etc.
6 - Serial Number, Draw Weight
7 - Unusual Feature or Notation, e.g., Factory Compass in grip, etc., original owner or other historical data.
8 - Price I paid, or value

Almost an impossible task to keep up with as bows come in and go out.
