I hope this is another case of the wrong coin. I just got a bow that I am pretty sure is a '59. It's a Kodiak, 64", 55#@ 28". Brown glass on the back, brownish orange on the belly. Also, a 4" purpleheart sight window and the rest of the riser appears to be Rosewood. The glass on the riser and overlays is either a light brown and white or faded red and white.
The serial number is DB519 and what appears to be an aluminum coin with a black background.

Awesome find. Congrats

Thanks. I just popped the tips off this afternoon. The bottom tip was really buggered up and glued on crooked with a sloppy amount of epoxy. I'm going to have to buy the glass and remake them myself unless someone sells them on this site.

Wade, does this serial number and description fit the bill for a '59?

It's a 59

Yes, the serial number DB519 is for a 64" 1959 Kodiak.
All of the DA001 to DA999 that I remember seeing are either rosewood or maple sight window 1959 64" Kodiaks.
All of the DB001 to DB999 that I remember seeing are purpleheart 1959 64" Kodiaks.
The coin means nothing as many fell out & were replaced with anything available at the time.

This 64" 1959 Kodiak is DA073.
As you can clearly see coins mean nothing as this 1959 Kodiak never even had one...

Thank you. I needed your confirmation to make me sleep better. I'm a Moderator on PA's website along with PatB. You are my go to information guy when someone asks about a glass, Bear bow.
