Shawn is undergoing surgery this AM he has done a great deal of fund raising for the kids of st Jude
Keep him in your prayers.

Been prayin for days...
As most know, Shawn is one of the toughest guys walking, he's not afraid of anything or anybody...
But this has been tough on him as it approached, has his really scared, and who could blame him...
I just got a text that he's just been wheeled into the OR...please, please...pray for my bro!

Thank God! Awesome. Makes my day in a big way. I could tell it was weighing on him and Cindy and to be honest that had me a little nervous as tough as he is. Its good to have a woman and family like that to get through his recovery. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

Got another update from Cindy...He doing ok, but in a lot of pain...getting ready to move him to his room.

Well, its me!! Have a head-ache like you can't believe!! Other than that I feel pretty good! Got a few stories as always. One that you and the doctors won't and didn't believe. Well,long story short. I had a bad experience with my post surgery care and was not allowed to rest at all. Also luckily Cindy found out that the guy that I was roomed with may of had spinal menengitis(from his mother) both were amazed they had me room with anyone with possibly even a cold! I was told the risk of infection with brain surgery is not to be taken lightly!! Finally roughly after less than 16 hours after my surgery I had enough!! I pulled all my IV's and told Cindy to pack my stuff I was leaving and that is what I did!! Stupid, yes, good decision YES!! Turns out I may of set some type of record for staying the least amount of time after having a brain tumor removed and leaving the hospital. Good news is that I am feeling good and actually doing quite well. I just tire out real quick, no shooting my bows for a few weeks but can shoot my handguns all I want! I have been home since yesterday afternoon and got to sleep in my own bed which is what I needed, my Molly(Llwelen setter) at my side since I have gotten home, she is my best medicine!! Thanks for all your support, this site is good medicine!! Thankyou all!!! Shawn

I hope you didn't misinterpret my post, the reason that I was concerned with leaving a hospital AMA.......was because IF you do, the insurance isn't liable to spend one red penny on the whole ordeal.
A lot of people don't know that.......I work in a hospital and you wouldn't believe the people that leave AMA only to find out later that they are responsible for the WHOLE hospital bill.
I wish you the best Shawn......I've had you in my prayers and will continue to pray for you and a complete and speedy recovery.

No papers signed and no mention of AMA so insurance has no issues, but I was not to leave until today at noon. I am feeling awful good, but I have developed diabetes insipidus which is common when you have brain surgery or take a severe blow to the head. Hopefully my pituatary regulates itself and I won't need to be on meds the rest of my life. Feelin great just tire pretty easily. Bought myself a present, Belcher ILF riser with 2 sets of limbs, wanted to try something new and this was a deal I could not pass up. Thanks guys! Shawn
