Guys my Dad is not good, hospice has come in and it is just a matter of a short time. I hope it is quick, I love him too much for him to suffer!! He has been my best friend my whole life! Please do whatever you do to wish him well and Thankyou, from him and I!! Shawn

I have been in your shoes and know the feelings you have. It is so hard to "want them to go" yet we know that our loved one's suffering will only depart by taking hold of God's hand and completing life as He intended.
Praying with you for a swift passage for your Dad to His caring hands!
Your Dad is not leaving you, but simply beating down the path for you, as he has all your life, so that you may follow when the good Lord decides it is time for you to reunite.
I think of, and often talk to, my own parents whom have gone on ahead years ago, on a weekly basis, and no one will ever convince me that they do not hear.
We WILL rejoice, all together again, as He has promised.

Prayers for peace that passes all understanding for you and your family, Shawn.
My own father has had hospice visiting at the nursing home since February...then he rebounded, now he's crashing again...slowly...
I understand your opening sentiments so intensely right now...not wanting them to go, but not wanting the lingering and spiraling loss of dignity, participation in life...
He needs to be fed, pottied and every other basic human need in his bed, but he refuses to acknowledge that things are changing. He refuses to let me sell his power chair, because he's sure he'll be better "soon."
It puts a heavy weight when they aren't ready and won't accept... It's between him and the Lord at this point.
Those who pass on before always live in our hearts with their words and deeds. You mirror what you were taught as you reflect the lessons taught and learned to others.
You are a living tribute to your father!
Be at peace. Keep the Son in your eyes!

Shawn, no need to apologize bud. Stay strong as your father would want you to. He will hunt with you everyday you go afield and fish the waters by your side. He now is at peace for he will not struggle for anything at anytime. You should be very proud for the Care and Kindness you gave your father through his health issues over the years. We could all only wish that our children can do the same for us, as you have done for your father. I am here for you if need be, Big Ed

The honor that you have shown both of your parents is testimony to the love that they have fostered in you and Cindy. You have been so blessed, and I pray that you will always hear their voices in your hearts. I'll send an arrow for your dad. I remember the year he joined us for the hunt and brought just one arrow. He was awesome! He'll always have a spot in our hearts and always be remembered. You are blessed Shawn, to have had such a relationship. Truly inspiring for all the fathers and sons that have had a chance to witness the love and friendship between you two.
