Title: Bow crushed by FedEX. What now?
Post by: Aram on July 08, 2011, 11:37:00 AM
Anyone has any experience with claims with FedEx? I received a bow as part of the TradGang bowyers 2011 swap. It's crushed.

Anyone here has any experience dealing with FedEx? Any helpful advice?

most important - is it insured?

did you notice it was crushed/broken/busted/etc when you received it?  if so, did you tell the fedex carrier agent?

call fedex .... and good luck.

I believe it was insured for $200. Not enough for the kind of work that went into it. THere is no bill as the bow was part of the swap.
I tried calling FedEx but they will not deal with me even though I have the proof of the damage they have done.
Yes, I noticed the package was crushed as soon as I got home. It was a long cardboard box that was bent at the middle about 30ยบ. THey even crushed and ripped part of their shipping label. The carrier had left it on my porch with not so much a courtesy as to knock on the door with an apology  instructions on what to do next.. Both my son and daughter were home, my son's truck in the driveway. The bow was well packed in bubble wrap inside a cardboard tube, more bubble wrap and all this in another shipping cardboard box.

I would contact the person who shipped it to you.

if they will not cooperate, call the Better Business Bureau in your area and file a complaint and ask for their advice.....
