Title: Prayer Request
Post by: Okie man on October 04, 2011, 06:13:00 AM
My son is currently deployed in an infantry unit in Afghanistan and has approximately 6 more months to serve there. His unit is seeing a lot of action and I ask for prayers to keep my son and all the troops safe while they do their jobs to protect us here at home. Thank you, Randy

Randy,

My heart aches for all who have loved ones in harm's way...and for those enduring those difficult and often miserable conditions.

May His hand be on your son and all who serve.

Prayers for Peace knowing His will is perfect even if not our own desires.  May your Son come home whole and well along with his team!

Please thank your Son for his service to this country and the freedoms we enjoy at the exspence of men and women like him and for the sacrafice of their families. Also thank you for raising a son that would be willing to serve for us americans. We need to never forget that they are some of the finest people we have here in the USA.  I wish I could shake their hands and let them know how proud of them I am. All I can do for them is to pray for their safe return and that our Father will continue to bless and protect them and the families they have left behind. Lord cover them in your protection and bless their families while they wait.......What an honor to be asked to lift them up and I do so faithfully. God bless you and them and God bless AMERICA.......Dusty

Thanks everyone for your prayers. My son is home for his 2 week R&R. He told me of an ambush where he and his squad was reconning ahead to make sure the Gator could make it to the next village. He said the Gator was carrying a couple of cases of tea for the villagers to help win the hearts and minds of the villagers in an area that is known as a Taliban controlled area of the province. While on this recon patrol they were caught in the open and in a crossfire. All had to run for cover and return fire. He said that it was truly a miracle that no one was injured. He said there were bullet holes in their packs and other gear that they were carrying but no one was even scratched. A testament to the power of prayer. Glory to God and thanks for all of the prayers.

My step Dad told a story about an event in World War 2 where they needed someone to cross an open field for some reason I don't remember that exsposed him to direct fire. He said there was a young man who said he would do it but he wanted to wait till 4:pm to do the task. At 4:pm that evening he came forward and did the task without being hit my enemy fire. Afterwards his commanding officer as him why he wanted to go at this time and he told him that his Momma told him that she would be praying for him at that time every day until his safe return home. He did return home safe. SO prayers do work and thanks for asking us to do so.......Dusty
