Just saw the twisters on the News, hope y'all are OK!
-
We came through it OK but a lot of folks didn't. Over 300 homes destroyed about 7 miles from me. Another 130 homes in Arlington just to the west of where I live. My mom is in an assisted living home in Arlington. It was not damaged but was within a block of another Senior living that suffered severe damage. No power where my mom lives and my daughter has picked up my mom and is bringing her to my house. Mom is on an oxygen concentrator and without electricity it is difficult for her the breathe. A few injuries reported but last I heard, no fatalities. Weather service has given the official count of 12 tornadoes that touched down. Tons of folks without a place to stay tonight, many shelters have been opened and now the clean up begins.
Please remember those affected in your prayers.

Had some close calls when I lived in Euless but nothing that severe.

Yea man, when you see 48' box vans flying around, that's usually a really bad sign! I will keep all those folks in my thoughts and prayers...

Son was in Houston, so he's safe. That area is known for bad weather.
Prayers sent to those affected.

It came through here before it got real organized. High wind and 2 1/2 inches of rain in 15 minutes. Had a heck of a swimming pool in the back yard until the 6" drains finally made some headway.
One of our friends lives in Arlington and his apt complex was hit but his place was untouched. He said the fish pond full of perch and carp is now empty and the whole area smells like fish.

It was pretty sporty for a while but we came through alright, everything was just west of us.
-
We were evacuated at work for some time but all is well with us. House did not suffer major damage either. We were blessed but sad for those who weren't.
-
Worked in it most of the day and into the night. The power of these storms humble you in a heartbeat. Early warnings saved lives. Blessings.

We had a couple of twisters touch down within a couple miles of work. News said there was one a few blocks from the house, but nobody on our street got any damage.
All in all, we were lucky to have missed out on the worst of it.
I was far more worried about my wife and daughter at school, but they were fine. They did go into emergency lock down twice though for about 45 minutes each time.

I work in Fort Worth and only heard the sirens, wife works down in Dallas and they had to hide for 30 mins in the bathrooms. I was more worried about my 3yr old daughter in daycare back home but they only got a little hail. Crazy day especially after watching the news. They counted 11 tornadoes! We'll be donating some supplies and $ to help those in Forney who where hit hardest.

Mother Nature sometimes shows man all his technology and science pale by her standards of power!
Danny,
The home where my dad is has emergency back up generators, but if they're as well maintained as the rest of the facility, oh boy... :(
Every room has a huge window...their solution is to draw the curtain in a storm as though that will stop hurtling debris.
Thankfully, this area doesn't get a lot of such weather like you guys!
Prayers for all.
Lord in Your Mercy...
