For the past several weeks, I have been having pain in my left heel..radiating up my leg into my lower back...I work in a factory, on my feet for 12 hour shifts, on concrete, wearing steel toe shoes..so I basically atributed it to getting old, and the pounding of years on my feet...however, the other day,.the pain got so bad I could barely make it to my truck after work....my wife made a doctor's appointment..and after xrays discovered I have a large bone spur on my left heel, at the area my achilles tendon stretches around...thus causing the radiating pain...
Now I have a specialist appointment Monday afternoon to decide treatment.....I hate doctors....just need some positive thoughts.....whether therapy or surgery...I need to get something done..just hoping it gets resolved before we head to Denton Hill.....
I know this is minor compared to what some are going through...but man, this thing really hurts!

Best wishes and a prayer for a speedy

We've talked. Its good to turn to your friends with such things. You'll see the Doc tomorrow and PUSH for something better'n and more long lasting than some expensive orthotic.
I've known too many people with heels spurs sent that course and then they end up not getting much relief... go for the long shot but long fix!
Keep the Son in your eyes...oh, and eat with those pain meds! :0

I have heel spurs too. I will take therapy over cutting any day of the week! They flared up real bad a bunch of years ago, but quieted down after a bit. Now I am dealing with plantar fasciitis in one foot, and the PT for that is a lot like that for heel spurs. I would go that route first if I were in your shoes.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Hope you feel better soon.

felt kinda foolish posting this on a prayer thread..figure the Lord has alot more pressing issues than an aging guy with sore feet!

You gumball!
Lord made us and made our feet.
Lord love us and loves our feet.
When we can't do as he would wish us to do, He is there for us...
Footprints in the Sand, a neat poem of sorts, would suggest that footprints, being of feet, are pretty important since when we can't go, He will carry us!
I'm proud to pray for your heel spur to be alleviated, bucko!

Prayers for God's wisdom and for Him to let you know that He wants to hear from you regardless of the situation and nothing in your life is too small for Him to consider it important.

Hey Lee,
The Lord knows the hairs on our head and you and I give him a real break there. Put it in his hands and he will guide you thru it. Nothing wrong with getting a couple of Dr. opinions either.
Good Shooting,
Craig

My wife has that Plantar Faciitis in both feet. She had one of them operated on and didn't help much after it was all done. If she does the stretches she does good most days. She has to wear something with a heel and an arch support but it has gotten better some. She took the shot in her foot and she about said words I didn't know she knew. She said that was the only one she will take of those. I have to agree with her too. I almost cried when she took it. God bless you and I will pray for your feet.......Dusty

Prayerfully, our intercessions are helping along with the coritzone shots! Lee should be most of the way through a grueling 12 hrs by now...not sure what hours he works, but hopefully he'll be home before dark... & in better spirits!
-
Lee, hope to meet you at Denton.
Get better my friend.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers! I hobbled through a 12 hour shift today, in the heat. It was well over 100 degrees in the plant, which along with breathing ceiling tile dust, made for a challenging shift! The shots seemed to help. The foot was sore, but put it on ice when I got home. The real test comes Thursday through Sunday, and 4 12 hour shifts in a row! In two weeks I go back for more shots and get fitted for orthotics!
Cyclic, it would be great to meet you at Denton Hill. Deb and I are camping at Potter County Family Campground, site #9. We are going up Tuesday afternoon, and look forward to the time away!
Once again, thanks everyone! The prayers and thoughts helped get through the day!!
