Here's the latest I received from Adler's parents. He's been doing great and his baseball team even won their class championship. But now his blood numbers have dropped.
I don't want to scare anyone, but we just got Adler's numbers back from today's blood counts. His ANC has dropped to zero. He virtually does not have an immune system. We are asking that you pray on Adler's behalf that he would be surrounded by a host of angels and that God would protect our precious son from any illness or danger. Please also pray for peace and comfort for his parents. Just when we think we are close to the end, this comes up. This is a little difficult to take.
We know that God is in control and will provide what is best for Adler. We thank you for your faithfulness in praying for Adler and our family. Much love to you!!!!

Drat! Hate to read that, but just a nudge we hope to remember who's in control and to continue to TRUST in Him.
Prayers for this to be temporary and they can find a way to bolster his immune system!

Praise God! Here's the latest on Adler.
We are happy to report a few things. #1 Adler's ANC moved up to 520. #2. Today was Adler's last treatment at the hospital. We will have a few pills to take at home yet, but no more treatments of the heavy stuff. YES!!!!!
I was beginning to wonder when the Lord was going to make those numbers move. In His perfect timing. Sometimes I feel like the Israelites who would ask for sign after sign that God was with them and would forget the miracles that he had performed for them. If we have faith like a mustard seed. Well mine must be a mote.
Once again, we ask that you take some time to praise our living God for his mercy, grace and his answered prayers for Adler as well as in your life.

Hopefully that "scare" was just His way of reminding all of us HE IS IN CHARGE...and we of little faith at times, get nervous.
I know I fail in that repeatedly...and for others, too.
Thank you, Lord for this turn around in ADler's good numbers for his ANC stuff... We know and trust but sometimes stumble.

I'm not surprised in the drop in the numbers. He's been on the strong chemo for a long time and they kept increasing the strength because his numbers were so high. Then the cumulative effect of the chemo caught up with him. I'd guess this actually made the Drs feel good because it told them the strong chemo had done it's job and now they could put him on the much weaker chemo pill. God is good all the time. 8^)
