Due to damage caused by the cancer I ended up with a colostomy. My body has tried to heal the opening for the colostomy which now is bleeding. Ive lost about a pint of blood but doing ok. We will meet with the sugeon today to get this fixed so prayers for God's best would be appreciated.

Praying for the best news for you. You are a great counselor here on TG.

Galen, prayers continuing daily for you.

Thanks for the prayers. I'm scheduled for a ct scan on Monday then meet again with the surgeon and oncologist the Monday after that. At that point the surgeon will decide what she will do but she's leaning on going in and removing any tumors that are there and then try to reconnect the colon. I'd love to get rid of this colostomy but not looking forward to another 2 week stay in the hospital. Plus we will see if the oncologist wants to start a different 2 chemo treatment after that. This stuff sucks but God is faithful and keeps my sense of humor and faith up.

You are a rock Galen. If everyone had the faith you have they would be a lot better off. I am praying for you buddy. I pray to God that you get a positive feedback from the doctors and they get this all worked out for you. Praying for you here in Pa.

Galen,
I missed this somehow. My bad and apologies asked.
I'm sorry to hear all this. When medicos re-do the human body, there are bound to be issues, but it didn't NEED to happen to you, ole Friend! :(
Hopefully, they can resolve the issue and give you some peace and time without so much "stuff" to handle, but as Craig said, you are a beacon of faith and a model for us all!
Prayers for God's best to be your joy!

Gods blessings on you for healing.

Spent the afternoon with my oncologist and surgeon and found out that the ct scan said I was unremarkable. Of course that something that's most of you who really know me aren't surprised about. But from a cancer standpoint it means not much has changed, no big scary growth, just a little increase. smile emoticon The surgeon is trying to schedule me to have a growth on the colostomy removed this Wednesday or next if she can't get me in right away. The growth will be tested but she feels it is unlikely to be cancerous. I feel pretty good about everything. Thanks for all of the prayers.

Your cancer might not be "Unremarkable" but, brother, YOU are!!!
Good luck with the growth on the colostomy! I cannot imagine you'll enjoy another surgery, but if it helps, it's all good.
God's Got your back, (and front)
Keep the Son in your eyes, my friend!
