Having rt shoulder surgery tomorrow...day surgery, and I am not really apprehensive...once there, the outcome is entirely in God's hands...but the recuperation, is what I guess I have some anxiety about, living alone and making do with one left hand! :( I had torn rotator repair 15 yrs ago, but this is pulling away from bone so not sure what all it will entail...except for sure 6 weeks of no use of the right arm...strapped to belly.
If not too much trouble, with having allergies to many pain meds, I'm just a bit anxious how rough it might get living alone and all...
Thanks!

Doc,
So sorry I couldn't get on before cause our server updated to Windows 10 or something and couldn't log on? After about 50 attempts trying to
have the mods resend my password I finally got an email with my password which I already had saved but couldn't get on for some reason? Anyway as you know I was an still am praying for you and all you folks even though I don't post it here much .I just do it quietly as I read everyone prayer needs. I know it does make one feel like we are praying when we respond on the threads and I'm ashamed of myself for not always replying back on the posts but I do pray for you all when I read them.
I'll try to do better everyone .
-
Never feel ashamed Keefer! Whether we see the words or not we know you and many more who never post are praying. Most importantly Jesus is continually interceding for all of us and He doesn't post here either. :)
-
indeed! as Galen says, this isn't about what we do but His response to our requests. thanks for prayers...its frustrating, but going ok
-
If we understood His Word we would know that He has already said yes to our requests. The problem is our ignorance of His Word, Promises, and His Way. Its our responsibility to RECEIVE in faith what He has already provided through Jesus. Jesus said "according to OUR faith it will be done for us." And James said "if a man wavers back and forth in his belief he can not expect anything from God." God has to do it that way to keep satan from using God's promises against us. It has to be believe with your heart to receive what God has already provided. God is NOT the problem we are and we have to humble ourselves and ask Him to Give us a right heart.
-
indeed, Galen---
'we receive not, because we asknot" but does it not Also say " we receive not because we ask with the wrong heart"?
God being omniscient, truly knows our heart. keith, like you Galen is a man with a heart for God....
-
If we knew how graceful He is we'd ask for a right heart and He would gladly give it but He is limited by our unbelief and how well I know that.
-
in my case even askin for the right heart is overshadowed by my own sense of self doubt and unbelief... i believe Lord, help me with my unbelief...
-
Me too Lord and thank you even when I don't feel like I believe.
-
Doc, prayers sent for your continuing recovery. You sir are an inspiration.
-
me? well, thank you! Lord does work in (with?) mysterious ways... :saywhat:
-
Doc,
Your typeing is improving there Brother ;) For a while there in your emails it actually looked like mine lol..Praying for a good recovery for you. Now are you getting any "therapy" weeding that garden of yours Doc?
-
typing? one handed with wrong hand is beyond me... neveR realized how big a klutz I is...dang neare stabbed my eye out witha fork tryin gto eat salad left handed...chased bowl all over table...
I tried weeding...but it's so hot and dry...I about melted with a sling stgrapped bto my belly...suked...
-
Some how I missed this.......good grief Doc, my thoughts are with you. I hope things are going better and your recovery is quick.
-
thanks, Ron et al,
Prayers for patience and discernment are always appreciated!
Doc showed me the arthoscopic pics inside that shoulder...it were ugly after only 12 yrs since last repair... This guy is super conservative on rehab where other surgeon years back, after 6 weeks said I couldn't hurt what he repaired... but I Had more torn rotator meat, arthritis impingement, spurs, torn tendons... so lots of repair work...
Doing home stretching, but nothing to the side for a long time... not sure I will be able to pull a bow come fall...last time I was back in 2 months... not with this dude.
I'll do what I must... and not what I shouldn't. I'm not having this again...Crikey.
Garden is coming in and I cannot lift to do the canning I want... bummer.
Them's of you what got a good woman, hold onto em! :) They come in handy... :saywhat: :knothead:

Just saw this, doc! I don't think I have been on here since I asked for prayers about my job. Funny, you would think I would have more time for stuff like this, but it seems like my whole days are consumed with job hunting.
Prayers up from Kansas! I expect to need shoulder surgery at some point. Right now I am just living with the pain!
-
depending on what's wrong that living with can create way more work later...take it as ez as you can till job comes...yes, job search IS full time work and more. prayers for you to hear His still small voice...
-
Thems of you got a bad woman...they can come in handy too! :biglaugh:
Hope you are eating a lot of fresh veggies, and feeling better.
You are a good man. There has been a lot of hurting here that you have helped heal. It will come around!

Ain't hunted in 3 yrs... if'n not this year, might have to start selling off stuff... :(
Again, kinder words never spoken and mean much, Killydear...thank you!

Glad you're using the wisdom God has given you. Something I need to learn :knothead:
-
To our many prayer warriors...those who post and those who only PRAY without CEASING (we need both).
I thank you. Due in larger measure to your prayers for healing, I believe I'm doing just fine. PT guy is pleased with range of motion...this week, #6 post op, I finally get to doing non-gravity overhead stuff with wand and "walking the wall" with finger tips...hurts a bunch, like bad toothache, but part of the process and I welcome being able to do a wee bit more.
This chap (surgeon) is ultra conservative compared to my Yankee surgeon a decade or more ago (same shoulder--torn rotator and more) but I'm trying to heed his guidelines, albeit, with gritted teeth...I want to DO MORE! Seems terrible slow... Alas, I'd rather not do this again in this lifetime!
Again, thanks for the healing prayers and it would appear things are going well, slow... :) But well and I'll "take it!" :) :)
-
Doc he probably is aware that we older fellers heal slower :dunno:
-
LOL...that might be, Galen, that might be ...but the pt who works with docs from all over says he's ultra conservative...
That makes one of us! :knothead:
-
"Glad you're using the wisdom God has given you."
"it would appear things are going well, slow."
Wisdom and patience. I can remember asking God for them YEARS ago. :banghead: Wish I'd have never asked.
Glad you guys are doing good.
Bob

"God grant me patience---right this INSTANT!"
:scared:

Saw Surgeon last Tuesday and by golly, he was pleased with range of motion and such... but now I can go without sling... Thank you!
But while I"m to do exercises that use the arm against gravity...NO LIFTING, pulling, or fun stuff or even all the work that needs done.
By the time this is over, I'll need work on my po' left shoulder..it's about wore out!
Thanks again to all the prayer folks who have kept me in prayer as I KNOW it has helped... bit of a row to hoe yet, but I'm grateful to be this far and able to shave, feed myself, etc! :goldtooth:
