Title: fresh mindset fresh start
Post by: adkmountainken on March 28, 2017, 12:48:00 PM
I have had some set backs are you are aware, doc does not want to put me through reconstructive surgery at this time. going to live with some pain and a little loss of range of motion. I am ready to move on, it is not in my nature to sue anyone one, never have never will so lets get that out of the way, got the second opinion from a good doc and trust in him. have started rehab and going ok. can not shoot a #43 bow to good yet, getting it done but poor form. I am ready to work hard, rehab and get back in the saddle, THANK YOU all for the prayers. will be posting in the shooting form section shortly with questions. biggest fear archery wise is I will not be able to shoot my bows I love! just want to concentrate and get as healthy as possible. started running again and it helps take my mind of things, knocked out 6 miles and it was the first I have ran in over 2 years. again THANK YOU to all!

I hope the rehab gets you back to where you need to be!
The running and pulling a bow sounds very positive!
Good luck to you with your recovery!!!

plugging away at physical therapy, driving the lady nuts as I want to do to much she says! can now reach full draw and hold with limited pain using my #50 Kanati, feel comfortable enough to hunt with it for turkeys now.

Keep at it, but, do not overdo it, listen to the therapist. I know you want to do more, but take it slow and easy so you do not undo what you have accomplished. Do not be bull headed. It will hurt you more if you do.

Yup, What Danny said...

My PT was a HS buddy....the whole team had to rein me in hard whenever...back up home.

Hard not to push...figure that old saying "NO pain; No Gain, but apparently ain't true with most injuries...

Gotta rebuild slow and steady or suffer setbacks-- or worse!        :scared:

Great attitude Ken.  I know your rotator cuff was not directly involved, but it had to have been affected.  There is a weight lifting bar called the "Shoulder Horn".  It is specifically designed to isolate and strengthen the rotator cuff.  It is not expensive, and you may want to discuss it with your physical therapist.  Continued success on your rehab and recovery.
