Title: Comparing Two Bows
Post by: bmfer on December 22, 2007, 05:47:00 PM
I bought my first longbow last year, a Martin Savannah 45#@28. After shooting it all year, I've gotten to be a fair shot with it. This year, I'm thinking of going up in draw weight and considering two different bows, a Hoyt Gamegetter II and the Martin Bamboo Viper. I would like to think that the Viper would be a fairly easy switch for me, but I have never shot one. The Hoyt, I have shot, but at the time the bow was too heavy for me. I also like the ability to screw on a bowfishing reel and quiver.
My question is, is there a big difference in form, going from a longbow to a recurve? Also, what are your opinions of these bows?

I won a recurve and a lb at JLMBH last year.....yeah I am going this year.  :D   I personally had no problem switching in between the two. It takes a few shots with each, but then I am good to go. I think(and thats dangerous!) that it is more a matter of getting them tuned right and having the right arrow set up...JMO.
