Just began looking into airfare for a trip in July '04. Had heard quotes ranging from $1300.00 to $1800.00 on some threads, however I am finding the prices more like $1800.00 to $2200.00
Please help if you know of good flights with low airfare. Flying into Johanasburg.

The price varies allot with time of year and how early you buy the tickets. I go to expedia and put in a fare watcher alert so i get an email when ever the price hits my mark. Ive seen the flight from NYC under $1000.
Ive also had great luck with Gracy Travel.

i paid a bit over $1300 for my trip last Sept. If you didnt know the flight from atlanta no longer is nonstop its added a couple of hours to the flight guess it wasnt long enough
the flight from NYC was changed that after i bought my ticket from atlanta just to save the hours.

I remember using Gracy Travel back in 99 when I went. They had the lowest fares at that time, and the trip was flawless. They are affiliated with South African Airways as I remember ( I may be wrong).

We've always had good luck with Gracy-Marrs travel also. Contact: Steve Turner at (800) 299-8558

I used to book with Esplanade Tours out of Boston. After they screwed up our seating several times, I changed to Gracy-Marrs. I will be using them is July for the first time.

Thanks for the imput everyone. After some searching it seems that the best prices were Gracy-Marrs and Premier Tours at 1-800-545-1910.
(They were only about $20.00 cheaper)
Considered skyauction.com, but have major concerns since exact flight arrangments are left off and there is alot of fine print. Have heard of some getting great prices there, but on my first trip the only supprise I want is how BIG Kudus are!

Prices fluctuate a lot, but they generally tend to be pretty close at any given outlet at any given time. Consequently, I've gone for service over nitpicking over a few bucks. Because I usually hit several places in Africa, this requires a lot of difficult connections and I've never found anyone who can handle this better than Steve Turner at Gracy Travel. He's so good I have him handle all my international flight bookings now. Don
