Does anyone know where I can get the full version of this book? I know you can get a small pocket version from 3 rivers. Anyone?

I bought both but I don't think the full edition gives you any more useful information.

Cabelas carries it also, sometimes they have returned ones for a discount in the bargain cave. Apparently guys get it for their one trip to Africa and return it for a refund when they get back!

Thanks for the help guys.

For what it's worth, I don't find the book all that useful. I can't quibble with the anatomy, but it's strongly oriented toward rifles. The ideal teaching tool would be to review some photos with a bowhunter with African experience. Don

Paying all the necessary respect to Doc Don I have to say:
It can be VERY usefull to have it at hand - whilest sitting in the blind or the lounge together with your PH - and discuss (wisper in first case!) all the stuff into detail. I am talking about the small and handy paperback pocket version [6.4oz / 180g / ISBN 1-57157-319-4 / $17.95].
I was told once (in SA) that quite a few North American hunters do have some problems with the far more forward located vitals - compared to theire normal prey. It can't be wrong to have a look at one or two of those pics from time to time.
I left my copy to my PH in 2004 for just this purpose. I was later told it was stolen from him on an Elephant 'Safari' (rifle) in Zimbabwe by a (supposed to be american) client later the same year!!! I replaced it again when I returned in 2005 ...

No argument from me Falk and I probably worded that a bit too strongly. Yes, African anatomy is different (see the other thread running here) and the book lays it out well. Just remember it was written by rifle hunters for rifle hunters. Don

I'm with both of you on this- If you READ the material, its all about the bullet..but the photos with vitals shown- for those of us who haven't been yet are ideal - just like this one, for establishing in your mind where you want to put the arrow through TO...in other words, pick the spot you want the arrow to EXIT the body, depending on your angle of entry.

Especially if you are like me, a visual mathematician, I NEED to SEE what is being talked about before its crystal clear. Buy the little one and carry it is my recommendation.
