Well I have just returned from S.A. and it was a great trip. I went with Adansonis safari and I cannot recomend these guys enough. They had never taken a traditional archer before but were very accomidating to my needs. The gear I used was a Striker 2001 recurve 60@28, carbon express 610gr arrows with Ben Pearson dead head, the small ones. The dead heads were absolutly awsome. I was able to take a huge waterbuck, behind the shoulder I hit a rib in and out and still had a pass through. The wildebeest I shot high and spined him the broad head completley penatrated the spine and went mabey another inch in depth with no broad head damage. The zebra was quartering away I hit the far shoulder but it did not exit, no bradhead damage. I cannot recomend these broadheads enough. I will try to post picks

I had a rough time getting there, I missed my connection in D.C. so United rerouted me through Frankford, Germany with a 10hr layover. So I arrived in S.A. a day late and my checked baggage was not there. I filed a report and went to the lodge. The first day I borroed a rifle and took a Kudu and a impala. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed being able to take them but I came to Africa to bowhunt not rifle hunt. So late the second day my bag and bow arrived, HAPPY DAYS. The rest of the week I was able to bow hunt and had a great time.

I'm glad your gear turned-up, James! That sure is a nice-looking short recurve...I'm tempted to invest in one! And they are all wonderful animals. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing. Ben

Nice pictures, mate. One day I hope to go to Africa to hunt as well, but that will be a ways off for me. It's nice to hear that you had a wonderful experience. How long was your trip for? Once again, nice job and congrats.
