Just one more week. 7 more sleeps & we'll be in Namibia! :clapper: :clapper:
Andy (Tradtusker) James (Tradman25) & I (Along with Andy's Parents & big Sis & another Andy, shooting a HUGE compound!) are scooting over to Afrika Jagd Safaries (prop. Piet Mostert) for a week of Eland, Gemsbok, Impala, Dik-Dik etc....
I'm probably not going to sleep from now until I get on the plane!
-
go get 'em, Rob...just as well sleep on the plane... :D
-
Man am I jealous, been once and can not wait for a return. Good luck getting much sleep. Hope your hunt turns out to be all you dreamed.
-
Have a great time Rob, looking forward to the pics and stories.

Good luck Rob you might have heard how beautiful Namibia is... :D
To me it's the ultimate remote and dramatic wilderness. Hunting there is the best dream you can have!!Shoot straight!

Have a great trip all of you guys!
There might be one thing to check before you go?! Don't know which arrows each of you will use, but I used wood (birch) the last time - which is also a little while ago now.
Well, the day before yesterday I used some of my veteran African birch shafts in a new to me bow with quite bad results! One off the few shot, made a big jump and missed the target by 3ft. on 20yrds. Okay - my fault, something with the release or so, I thaught. Do it again! Same dangling in the bow, with hitting the sight window by the nock and speeding away in an awfull wrong direction!
After putting this particular shaft on the spine meter I had to notice [NOW], that in my bunch of all self made hunting arrows, one is underspined by 10-15#
Even though my then used Kodiak T/D seems to be more forgiving in this respect then the now tested bow, I have no excuse for this fault and don't understand how that could happen to me
I guess I wanted to say: Double check all the important stuff! There are 5 days to go - so plenty of time!
-
Two words Falk; Beeman Skinnys ;) :D
Yeah, we've been tuning, fine tuning, re-tuning & ultra-fine-microscopic-adjustment-to-the-nearest-grain tuning for about 6 months :D
All good to go, 660 & 680gn Beeman MFX. A mixture of Silverflame, Magnus I, Zwickey Delta & Woodsman heads for me.
2 bows, good to go; Horne Combo longbow pulling 63# at 30" & a Morrison Cheyenne at the same weight.
-
Sounds like your gonna have a blast.
Shoot straight
