G'day guys and gals im off to Namibia in september, my main bow is a PSAV 66lb at 27inch and il be shooting trad only carbons with 3 gr per inch weight tubes and 260 gr broadheads for a total weight of 666 gr, how do you fellas think this will perform?

Your main bow should go through just about anything you shoot with it and your backup is more than adequate.  If your arrow makes it to the far side interior of the ribs and gets both lungs it is all good.  Exit wounds are nice but when I was there they didn't worry to much about tracking by following blood on the ground.  They followed the footprints in the sand (how I don't know as you will see when you are there).  The dogs were even faster at finding critters than the trackers were and they followed scent.

Just fine, but I would round that total arrow off to 665 or 667 grains.

Yes Luke might have you sitting next to Banjo all the way there just to be sure!! BTW most times its not the equipment that is the problem but buck fever plus see blood you pay!

I have taken kudu bulls, gemsbuk, cow eland, with 58# lowgbow and 575 grain arrow icluding 125 grain 2 blade Magnus.  Shot placement and very sharp blades is all you need

You are MORE than good to go.  During the course of 3 trips hunting in Africa...the heaviest bow I shot was 55lbs.  And I killed everything up to and including a huge eland bull with that bow.  The eland went 40 yards.  I was using arrows that were around 680 grains I believe, and a razor sharp two blade eclipse head.  Worked great for me!

in my two trip`s (2006/2009) i used my 55# saII widow , 1st trip kudu bull 140gn magnus 2 blade 540gn arrow ( cx heratage carbon ) 2nd trip 2 kudu cow`s same bow 150gn woodsman 530gn arrow`s (cx edge hunter`s ..skinny ) pass through`s each time , had an eland bull at 12 yards but held off , then my ph said i would`ve knocked it over .
your good to go & then some !!
good hunting .
