Title: Newbie question - bow is making noise during draw
Post by: buckhuck on January 05, 2008, 11:11:00 AM
Hello, I am new to traditional archery, just got my bow strung up last night, I shot several rounds last night, and a few this morning.  When I draw back, the bow makes a very slight creaking noise.  Is this normal?  The bow shoots good as far as I can tell.

I am shooting an older Bear Kodiak Magnum #45.  It has not been shot for quite a while.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Could be the wax on the string as it is lifting off the tips of the bow.  Unstring it and clean the wax off the limb tips and try again, see if the noise is gone...Mike

If you have rubber tip protectors on, they can "creak" when you're drawing the bow
