Any opinions on this camera?
Thanks, Robert

Im assuming your talking about the S2 IS. If so its an excellent camera from what I know about them. I sell cameras at Best Buy and it was probably our most popular camera in that class. You can check out reviews on it at places like dpreview and cnet .com.(not sure if im allowed to post the links) Also check out its newer model the S3 IS.

Thanks Chris,
Yes, I was talking about the S2 IS.
I ended up getting the S3 as I was able to get it cheaper than the S2 was selling for (kind of strange, but it worked for me).
So far I like it real well. Still trying to learn all the buttons, but really pleased with some of the photos I have taken.
Thanks Again,
Robert

I love my S2, I just wish they let you manually focus, trying to shoot wildlife in the woods while the camera auto focusses on a twig a yard in front of you is really frustrating. I've tried focussing on something at the proper distance, then moving back to what I want to shoot, but you can't always find a clear lane.

I bought an S3 IS for Christmas and love it. Really like the 12x zoom. Takes great pics and the price is right.

The S3IS lets you manual focus. It also has a nice sports setting for taking action shots and multiple shots in a row. And, of course, it dropped a couple of hundred dollars AFTER I bought mine.
I resized some pictures I took on a recent trip to DC with my wife and daughter. I hope they come out OK and give you an idea of what the S3IS can do.

These are all resized to about 25% of their original size. I did it with MS Photo Editor.

I call this one "holiday remembrance", it is a wreath laid at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
