Sorry! I'm at work and can't take pics until tonight. But I was jumping for joy and had to share with all you "bowaholics" out there! You know my joy! These are for my Cheyenne riser (macassar ebony w/ honduras )that has been patiently (me not so patient!) waiting for some limbs! They are BEAUTIFUL! Thanks Bob! Oh, and the sock for the limbs was a nice touch. Even the color combo of the string was perfect! He must have been reading my mind! Well, I can't wait to string this baby up and see what she can do. Pictures coming.......

:bigsmyl: :campfire: :jumper:
I know exactly what you have been through. And I can take my bow out of the safe, now, right? :D
Killdeer
(PICS! GO HOME AND TAKE PICS!! you can tell them you left your lunch on the kitchen counter or some such BS.)
-
You tease! LOL
-
Lucky Dog! I'll be waiting a while since I just ordered my new Arapho limbs for my Shawnee. If you don't mind, I'll just drool all over yours for now.
Killdeer, don't take that bow out just yet!
-
Snag and Killie both, how long did it take to get your bows from Bob? I talked to him about 3 weeks ago, and he said he was ready to glue up my riser. I'm getting reall itchy to shoot it!
Snag, we need pics!!!!
-
Killdeer, your bow is safe now...lol I must say looking at yours made me want mine even more.
Vermonster13, isn't this fun! Love this wait and see thing...when it isn't me having to wait! lol
Leatherneck, drooling is ok as long as it is on your computer.
A.S., I purchased a riser that was already instock. I waited an eternity....ok, about a month for the limbs.
I just got back from shooting at the range with one of the Blacktails. It must have a feeling it will be hung up for another bow...broke 2 nocks!
-
Snag, I remember seeing that you bought a riser that was instock (it's a beauty!). Sounds like I should be getting close to getting mine now.
How does it compare to your Blacktail? Hope you enjoy it
-
Best get that nockbreaker outta there before it infects the whole herd!
I got room.
Killdeer :bigsmyl:
-
A.S., step away from the computer! From my experience if you go to Bob's site and you see a riser that is exactly like you would have ordered you are in deep trouble...there's no help for you!!!
I am curious to see how it compares to the Blacktail myself. I am sure they are equals in many ways. I really love the way the Morrison Cheyenne riser feels in my hand. Just by looking at it on Bob's site I knew it would sit good in the hand...it was better than I had imagined!
Killie, that's what I admire in you. You are always willing to help out another archer...lol
-
Snag, good thing I'm a lefty or I would have bought a couple off his sight already!! Can't wait to get it. I agree, the riser just LOOKS like it will feel good in the hand.
-
I think we are really in trouble now! No excuse for not shooting well! lol

The Blacktail god's are going to rain down on you, both the deer and the bow!
You just jinxed yourself for ever killing a Blacktail buck snag! :knothead:
-
Good thing I believe in one God TK....The way my adventures have been going with Blacktails you're probably right! What can I say I believe in shooting great bows no matter who makes them...I will never give up my Blacktails though!!!
-
Snag that looks like a great buck. What does he score about 135?
-
I strung it up today and shot a few arrows until it started raining. (http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/snag23/DSC00521.jpg)
-
Oh no the dreaded red X!!!!!
We need pics!!! LOL
-
It sure draws and shoots smooth! (http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/snag23/DSC00514.jpg)
-
Yep, it's a keeper! Need to get to know it better. But I love the way the rounded grip feels in the hand and there is very little handshock at all...very quiet too! (http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/snag23/DSC00513.jpg)
-
They are lovely, aren't they?
-
Durn that is purty! What is the weight again?
Killdeer
-
It came in at 56#@28". It is so quiet. I was shooting some 80-84#POC and some GT5575s out of it that I had made up for another bow. It shoots with authority but kind of "stealthy like"....if you know what I mean. I think that cork gasket between the limbs and the riser helps reduce vibration and quiets it down....? The limbs have a pretty severe bend up near the ends too...that provides the power stroke! lol
-
80-84 POC?? That heavy a spine? What is the total grain weight of those? I know what you mean about the stealth factor, that is one quiet bow that shoots flatter than it feels it should.
I never had a takedown before, I am glad I like this one as much as I do. And I am certainly glad that yours has made it home, your whining was driving me crazy. ;)
Killdeer :D
-
Man what a nice bow!!! I gotta call Bob tomorrow and see how mine is coming along.
Did you get those antler limb bolts from Bob?
-
Very nice! Snag are those boo or foam core limbs?
-
The drooling has started!
-
Whining? Yes, I was! lololol
Those POC arrows are 605gr w/ 160gr tips.
Bjorn, they are the bamboo core.
A.S. I get all the antler limb bolts from Sticshooter here on Tradgang. Shell does an awesome job!
-
I love those hoof prints on the antelr bolts...very nice indeed
-
Dang! That's one purty bow. About as good-looking as I've seen in a while.
-
Snag, I thought I had seen some like that before. I have a back quiver by Shell. I may have to look into getting a pair of those limb bolts.
-
Pretty bow. My Cheyene is 60#@28" and 56" and I am shooting 700 gr Vapor Carbonwood 4000s out of it. I also likes my 800gr 70/75 Alaskan Forgewoods. Killed 4 or 5 rabbits,a turkey and a couple of quail with it in West Texas and South Texas. Now waiting for my Shawnee with recurve limbs, is a 58" bow (B riser and B limbs) and 62#@28" should be here any day now.
Danny
-
Danny what is the spine equivalent on those Carbonwood 4000s?
-
I talked to Bob Morrison today. My limbs missed weight and he is building a new set. Should be ready in a week! I'm going to be worse than my kids counting down to Christmas!!!
-
Hang in there buddy...I know it is a true test of patience! lol
-
I shot some 80-84# POC 29" w/ 160gr tips out of this bow yesterday. They flew pretty good. Advice on carbons with this bow? I have some GT5575s.
-
Axis/Beman 400's with standard aluminum insert and 200gr head could probably be tuned pretty well to that bow and get you weights in the low 500's...at least when I shot em out of a similar cheyenne they did. Certainly shoot great outta my 57@27 shrew.
-
I only have experience with GTs. You obviously feel the Axis is a better carbon...?
-
Just my experience....but GT's are fragile compared to Carbon express and axis-type shafts I've used.
-
Sweet bow man. I'm gonna have to take my medicine real soon.
-
I decided to bareshaft some POC 85-90# shafts w/ 160gr tips. They came in at 29" and this bow makes good use of them. I have found that the grip is very comfortable. The more I shoot it the more consistant it lays in my hand. It really shoots where you look. Quite a bow.

Welcome to the club brother. Best there is, imho.

Didn't know what I was missing out on!
-
Spoilt fer life... :saywhat:
-
Oh great! You would have to put that out there JC! lol
-
Man, Bob has a nice risers in stock now. One is Kingwood with Macassar Ebony! He has a few sets of the new limbs too. I think I will wait until he has perfected putting veneer on those. Got to have wood!
-
Snag, I was drooling over some of in stock bows last night! The wait is killing me! My riser is Kingwood/Macassar, can't wait to get it.
JC, I think the Shawnee w/new longbow limbs is next on my list!
-
That Cocobola/purple heart riser he has in stock is to die for!
-
"You know you have it bad when.....when you HAVE to go outside in your pajamas and shoot the new bow first thing in the morning!" lol I like the way this shoots without a bolt on quiver. I don't know if I can put one on it.
