Title: Waiting for book
Post by: Eastern fisher on January 05, 2008, 02:40:00 PM
Well here it is 3:28 pm.  Saturday afternoon.  My teenage son is at a birthday get together.  My wife is shopping (surprise) and my 3 year old daughter is asleep.  It is sunny and relatively warm outside.  Thier are coyotes and rabbits to be taken AND I AM STUCK HERE. AUGHHHHHH.  I ordered The Bent Stick by Paul Comstock 2 days ago from 3 Rivers.  Now I have to wait.  A friend of mine loaned me his book called  The Flat Bow by Hunt @ Metz.  It is an interesting book and he made a flatbow with it but I found that his bow was a bit on the bulky side so I am going to wait for The Bent Stick to arrive. (This coming from a man with ZERO patience).  Anyways untill it arrives I have a question or two.  I have been told by many good people from our family here that most fruit and nut trees will work.  I would like to try Osage or Yew but we cannot get it from any stores here in Nova Scotia.  No one can find a dealer who they can get it from.  Any ways (probably more than I can afford)  So what do I use?  I like the look of Cherry, Ash.  I want to try and build a "cool looking bow" as well as one that works.  Any ideas??
