What video camera would you suggest? I want to stay around $2000, and hi def.To be used to video wildlife and hunting.

Are you planning on going into business or just playing around?

Just playing mostly.I do intend to make a video to give to folks who are interested in our bows.This will mostly be to inform folks about our bows.I do already have about 8 hours of hunting footage just to keep the video from being to dull and factual.Of cours of that 8 hours of video probebly only about a quarter of it is good usable footage.And who knows maybe it could turn into something someone may be interested in seeing.Any advice you could give would be much appreciated.

If you want to go HD and intend to do any editing, you will need to look into your computor set up. HD is demanding on a system.
Also, Blueray players are few and far between these days. If your planning on distributing dvd's, you may just want to stay with a standard dv camera.

I have talked to the Campbell outdoors people about 3 times now( they are probebly tired of me).As I understand it you can play hd video on a regular player.The camera I am looking at will record in hd or standard format.I have pretty much settled on the sony hdr-fx7.Thanks for the input.

For what it is worth I looked into the hd cameras this past fall when I needed to upgrade. Clay is right, hd is still not "USER" friendly for what "WE" are doing. I replaced my sony vx 2000 with its current replacement the sony vx 2100 in mini dv format. My brother Ricky who works for ESPN and has some good knowledge on this subject, steered me away from hd for now. Good luck, Bill

Hey Bill, how's the audio on that 2100? Are you using an internal or external mic? Do you ever record audio seperatly?

For $2000 you can get a Cannon GL-2 which is standard DVD, but will be compatible with 2x doubler. Stay within optical zoom of your camera which ever you pick if you plan on duplicating. The Cannon is a very tough camera in that it is more tolerant of moisture and tends not to shut down during tough hunting conditions. I have beat the heck out of mine on numerous years of bouncing in my back pack an solo wilderness hunts and whitetailing. Check out Primal Dreams for example of video output. Mike

Hey Clay, The audio is just fine on the 2100. We use the internal mic most of the time but will use a shotgun mic sometimes. Bill

I have an FX7 - I wish the HDR FX1000 was available when I bought it. The 1000 is a much better low light camera
