I did a quick search here and couldn't find the answer. What thread size or screw size fits into the threaded mounting hole on the bottom of cameras? I'm assuming that the thread size is pretty standard for most cameras. I'm trying to make a packable camera mount using one of my arrows to use to take photos in the field utilizing the timer on my camera. Thanks.

1/4 inch diameter and 20 threads per inch is pretty standard...1/4"-20

Thanks.

What kind of camera are you looking to use on this support? Pretty much any make will wobble on an arrow and unless on the fastest shutter speeds, you will get motion blur if mounted on an arrow just from the vibration of the shutter.
Do a search at B&H for mini tripod, there are lots of cheap alternatives. Check out the Joby line, they even have one in Orange and they are very adaptable.

A light solution would be to get a velcro strap attached to a 1/4 20 mounting screw. You can strap it to almost anything and hold up a light point an shoot. Use the self timer to fire the camera to avouid shake.
