I will be purchasing a camera from a local store, probably wally world.
I am not interested in becoming a pro photographer just to take nice pictures, have a camera that will last a few years, not have batteries killed every other picture and have a decent track record as far as mechanics go.
My Budget is about 100.00. any suggestions. For the record, I am camera dumb so mounds of technical jargon doesn't mean anything to me.

You actually have quite a few options. If you do a search on Amazon.com and then along the left side select $50-$100. I found a couple from different name brands that would fit your budget.
Nikon Coolpix L22 12.0MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Optical Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD
Olympus Stylus 5010 14 MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Dual Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-inch LCD (Titanium)
Canon Powershot A800 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.3x Optical Zoom (Red)
Are just a few on the list that are compact but plenty of pixels and quality for that trip to Colorado... :)

Silly me.. you have to select electronics, digital cameras, and Point & Shoot Digital Cameras, then put in your price point of $50 - $100 along the left side. (my brain is tired from my database homework.. ugh)

Charlie, do a search for the Olympus Tough TG-310 online. You have a PM.

Thanks for the input Kenneth and Thomas.
