Title: Still Camera or Video? Which do you prefer in the woods?
Post by: Dallas Hemeyer on September 22, 2012, 08:27:00 PM
I cant hit the woods without either of my Cameras I dont know what it is but I cant imagine not capturing some of my adventure every time im out. Does anyone else feel this way? What do you always have with you. For me Its my Canon SLR still camera and my Canon Video Camera. On my multi day High Country trips the weight really adds up with a tripod! I might try and limit it to an SLR with HD video soon, But in my mind the camera gear is worth its weight in GOLD!

I was ready to pull the trigger on a Canon HF G10 camcorder, it’s a beauty and very well rated, but actual bought a Nikon D7000 DSLR camera. My Nikon will take video but not the quality of the Canon HF G10 although DSLRs are getting better and better at video.  The D7000 does better than most of the DSLRs.  I went with the DSLR as I viewed it as more versatile. I identifying the best product in the price range I am willing to spend then buy it.  I could not afford the Canon and the Nikon.  There is a ton to learn with DSLR cameras but I am making progress.  It will be joining me in the field this year capturing the things I cannot or will not with my bow.  Hope to have the Canon HF G10 one day unless something better in that price range comes on the market.  Very nice set up Dallas! Obviously you have more than one camera.
