Saw him bedded down and put the sneak on him. Got to fifteen yards and decided it was time to shoot double lung. He Got up took three or four steps and feel down. It was awesome he is a seven point with a kicker off the base. Will post pix later

Then write the blinkin' story!
I had a similar stalk, but never recovered the deer. I would like to hear the details, especially about shooting a bedded deer. What was the terrain, the footing, the trees and brush? Oh dang...look how late it is!

Wow! What a great way to take your first! Now, back to Killie's idea: "...write the blinkin' story!"

I can't figure out how you know if your bucks are trad or not. Was he wearing an arm guard or a hoof tab or something?
Congratulations!

Ok here is the story! LOL!!! A buddy and I had made plans the night before to hunt the following afternoon. That night he took a doe so he was unable to go the next afternoon. I shoot a couple arrows at his house just to see if my new arrows would shoot well (They flew great). So off I went I wanted to hunt some new property but when I got there kids were playing in the yard. As I wanted to hunt a spot close to the house this just woulnt work. So off I went to where I usually hunt. I decided to hunt the climber. The wind was blowing pretty good. So I wanted to hunt down in the bottoms, as I thought the deer would be trying to get out of the wind. As I crossed the cattle pasture I had a little bit of a stand off with the bull, finally he moved on and allowed me to cross the gate. Once I crossed the gate I went in to still hunting mode. Moving slowly and stopping often as the deer bed on the ridge to the left. Once in the bottom I took an old cattle trail leading to the climber. Still going slow and quite the whole way as the deer also bed on a ridge In front of the climber. As I approached maybe 50 yards from my stand I saw what I thought was an antler move so I waited to see if it would move again. Sure enough it did! At this point Im 50 yards from my stand and he is bedded down 20-30 yards to the top left of it facing away from my position. Slowly I make my move being very careful not to let the briars snag me. Once within 25-30 yards the cattle trail stops. DANG! So now I have to deal with leaves and sticks. glad I was this close and didint have to go to far in them. I made my moves every time the wind would pick up once with in 15yards only a creek seperated us. I told myself calm down dont blow this as I drew it just felt natural and the arrow was on its way. Thud yes good hit I thought as the buck jumped to his feet. He took a few steps and was down. As I sat there still amazed at what had just happened I text a friend to let him know. He brought his four wheeler (thak God) Dragging him up that big hill would have killed me lol. Any way my equipment was a Bear Super Mag 48 Beman MFX arrows with a Muzzy 125. Here is a pic from my phone still waiting for my cousin to download the good ones. (http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll59/BHTGdogs/121308_15115B005D1.jpg)

Congrats!

Awesome dude, awesome!

Excellent job. Stalking up on any whitetail is a great accomplishment. This is a greater trophy than a 200 inch buck with a gun or from a treestand.
-
Had this been a gun kill it would not mean as much its to easy with a gun just like a compound thats why I left them behind.
-
Outstanding! CONGRATS!
-
Congrats , nice stalk  :clapper:
