Sweet!! Makes a much easier job of tracking. Wish we had some in the mountains, here. Still too warm. Some years it would be deep by now.

Curt,
Great pics and story as always. Not sure if everyone noticed as much as I did , the respect given to, " just a doe ". I will use your fine example to teach Mason how to respect God's provision.
Our freezer was empty from our first year of trad only hunting so we, " cheated " a little this year for the first half of season to stock up. Mason has got four with smokepole and rifle. We will mostly trad hunt the rest of the year now and try to get our first trad kills. Cannot tell you what it felt like to climb down the tree four times this year and watch Mason run to his deer, kneel down, and pray over God's provision. His 3rd and 4th were in the snow too believe it or not ! We occasionally get some snow in TN.
Congrats again Curt on a great hunt, pics and story. Maybe someday we can tell one as good as you do. :campfire:

Thanx fellas...I really appreciate the kind words.....
Been kind'of a rough road for me this season...hardly any chance to hunt(work), and when I did get out it was always something...fickle winds, tresspassers, etc....
I can still count my hunts this year on two hands.....that's not much almost 2 months into the season!
Al, That would be snow...something I don't even get much of a chance to hunt in....
No Cams, Thanx bud....some of my most memorable hunts have resulted in "just a doe"...
Very funny Charlie ;)
Yes sir Mark...without a doubt! These are "hunted" deer too....sharp as a knife!
SS, I love them...about all I've used for the past 5 years...only switch to WW when I think I might need a little more penetration(big hogs,Elk)
Doug, I killed her about 50 yds up the creek from where you hunted. Came from where I told you they cross the road. Good thing I was parked by the "barn"...I also have some good news for when you come back....
This is one I passed on after I shot the other...one was enough for today.....
Todays tree...Lone Wolf climber...
Shot was 17yds, she went about 100yds after the shot....Liver and one lung....
-
-
Nice Curt! Big ol' doe is the matriarch of the woods, much tougher quarry than those antlered deer. Good Hunting! (see you in three weeks)
-
Curt, I know you have been working some long hours this year, glad to see you made it out a few times.Same here some of my best memories are some smart old does congrats on the late season deer.>>>>-----> ED

-
Very nice, Curt! Congrats!
-
"It`s always a little sweeter in the snow"...indeed.
Plus, late season deer do not allow ANY mistakes.
Great camera work, and certainly a nice deer.
Congratulations.
-
Sorry I didn't post earlier Curt...been taking care of buiz, pruning, and taking out the garbage :D
Congrats......that's a cool doe. :clapper:
-

-
Congrats on a unique doe!! If you had the dough, you should get her shoulder mounted. Deer with a mane(mowhawk) and that white blaze are hard to come by. She's purty for sure!
Hunting in the snow is such a good time, especially when trailing after a good shot. Those Snuffers are devistating on deer!!!
-
Congratulations, Curt!
-
Arwin, I think he "knows" a good taxidermist where he can get a deal ;)
Very unique MR. Moderator
-
Great doe and story Curt.
-
Gotta love hunting in the snow!!
-
  :clapper:
-
Again, thank you all very much...
Steve O... ;)
Skyler, You bet bud,Solana's gonna be awesome!!!
-
Nice job! Late season does are tough, for sure.
One thing I think only bowhunters understand, is the primal beauty of a blood trail in the snow. For me it takes the pressure off of the followup.....just follow the ground to your prize!
-
Theres nothing like hunting in the snow, Its just starting to snow here, I plan on hunting in it tomorrow. nice doe and congrats.
Billy
-
Curt, glad you found the time to get out and enjoy the season! The beautiful doe was some nice icing on the cake!
Congrats my friend!
-
I love these threads but I get all this info real quick as Curt and I text quite a bit. I was thrilled for my bud as has been said he has worked a lot as of late. I was supposed to call him but I have been busy myself. Congrats again bud!! Gonna try a couple more times? I am heading out tomorrow afternoon with the bunny bow!! Shawn
-
Good look'n ol mayer, congrats.
-
Very nice!
-
Great job Curt. I know when I've been working a lot I find myself mentally thinking about all the opportunities I've missed. When you finally get the chance to get in a stand and connect its just that much sweeter. Congrats.
Chris
