What luck! I finally picked the right trail to place my tree stand after seeing a nice rub line ! Didnt wait more than 1.5hour. The hit went high as shots from downward usually do but the little Zwickey past the spine and entered both lungs. There was no blood trail since he bled internally .From past experience though they dont go more than 75 yds.I found the shaft which he broke off and the remaining 6 1/2" with the broadhead was still in him. Sure enough after looking 5 minutes for him he was lying dead approx. 75yds from where I hit him. (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b278/cvarcher/6ptbuck002.jpg)

Congratulations. What are the specs on your Wesley Special? I'm hunting with my first Hill bow this year, a 57@28, 66 inch special edition "Wild Boar". I love it. Is that a wire haired Dashound nipping at your deer?

Nice Hill, good meat.

A big congrats to you! Nice shooting. :notworthy:

Somebody was thinking ahead and planted those two pines the perfect distance apart to support a meat pole.
Nice deer, taken with great equipment.

Thanks everyone.Yes thats my almost 15years old mini wire dachsund. He too was a mighty hunter once.he was teamed up with my hunting hawk for bunnies and that was an unbeatable team! You should have seen the tug of war when both was attached to the bunny! he he. This Wesley Special is a sweet shooting 45lbs @28 and 66" long.I use tapered cedars as always with little eskimos on the front. Everytime I go out I run a 6" mill file the way J.Shultz showed me and they are ready to do the job. Took me over 4 hours to butcher and wrap the meat from start to finish.
