Title: 7:45 Am I Got my First Deer with a Self Bow

I need to take Pic's and Skin the deer so I'll tell the story and show pic's later. Just wanted to start this thread before I started and have to go VOTE.

Ok, I was in my stand by 5:00 AM. The weather was great and the sky was clear. I picked this stand from seeing a deer walking that way Yesterday Morning. As I was sitting there I saw a buck come in and turned the other way. I hit the can & my grunt tube. The Buck started to walk back to me. The Buck then turned again and walked off.

About 7:30 Am I was thinking of going to a scrape, then I saw it or them I should say. They came walking in slowly and when the first one came to my stand, I drew, came to anchor, the deer looked at me and I loosed a arrow in to it. I clean pass thu.

It was a BB, and I honored Him well. Here is the pic of me and My Deer & the arrow.

Shaun, It's great. What a rush from taking a deer with a self bow. I want to Thank TradGang for the help in making my bow and to all my friends & cyber Family for being there..

If You haven't made a bow and taken any game with it... DO IT!!

I got to make a self-Bow.

One of my dreams is to make a self-Bow and kill a Grizzly with it before I die.

Thanx everyone.. Just another First in Hunting and what a rush it was. Now I just need a buck in velvet and that will do it for my firsts for whitetails.


Ken, I'm very Proud with that little Deer and the bow I made to take it. I wish You luck on getting Your first 1 on the ground.

I'll be back out in the Morning, then I have to go to the DR's... Then Back straps on the smoker. I'll be using cherry wood for flavor.

I just believe I went this long before getting a deer. Almost 2 months with no deer. Feels good to get one... Hopefully the rain will hold out for a morning hunt.

Thanx Mike, That arrow was My first try at fletching wrapping. I did glue them on first.
