Title: first deer with long bow
Post by: minnesota_hunter on October 25, 2008, 11:34:00 PM: I got my first deer with a long bow tonight. I knew the bow was quiet, but after i shot her once, she took a few steps closer to me and looked back at the arrow, giving me a second shot. first shot was at 15 yards and a double lung shot. second shot was at about 13 and took out her heart. she walked a couple more yards and layed down.
i was using a Holm-Made Osprey longbow 46Lbs with magnus 2 blade broadheads.

I was shooting a Mahaska Recurve .She was walking into a winter wheat field on a Horse Farm I had permission to hunt [best property I ever hunted]. I shot, thought I missed she just stood there at around 20 yards last light. I shot again and spined her well when I got down and walked over to her I realized I had made a perfect heart shot first shot arrow was in the ground under her.
