I finally put it together last night, I used a primos doe bleet can and pulled in a five point. Now I have killed many bucks with other means but it was special because it was my 1st trad kill. I used a osage selfbow 52#@27 1/2 ", cedar shaft with a 160gr ACE and one feather from a turkey I killed with a gun. I was sitting in my ground blind (deadfall tree) with a ghillie. I used the bleat can and few moments later I see a tree moving, he is rubbing his horns on it I bleat again and he starts walking to me stops at 20yards stands for about 15 minutes looking past me at a ridge he thought the bleat was coming from lets out a grunt turns around walks 5 yards and lays down. Now I have this buck laying 25 yards from me and I cant move a muscle, it must have been 45 minute to an hour and the only time I can move is when he turns his head away, I am getting pretty stiff and sore from holding my position and when he turns his head away I pick up the can and give one bleat, he looks at the ridge past me stands up and starts walking over tward it passing 15 yards as his head goes behind a large maple tree I pull my bow back and when he clears it I let the arrow fly hitting him father back than I wanted, he runs to the ridge and I can see my arrow on both sides of his body I pick up the can and bleat a couple times at him, he pauses then walks behind a bush I hear him fall down so I wait a few minutes gather my stuff and head home to get my daughter and a friend to track. It starts raining when we get back about 90 minutes go by, we headed to where I heard him go down and he aint there so we start looking for blood, find my arrow and begin to track he went another 30 40 yards and we find him. I must have hit the femoral artery. I think my brain must have wandered a little Im sure I picked a spot but now it is a blur. I am happy to finaly get my 1st Trad kill.
(I cant seem to put a pic on here but if someone can I can try to email it to you. )

Nice job congratulations

Great story, and a great buck! First deer are always memorable. Even though you had killed deer before, isn't it cool to be able to relive "firsts" just by switching equipment?
Congratulations!

Thanks to all, It was a big first I can still see the buck runing away with my arrow sticking out of him, it was like slow motion unlike using a compound that allways seemed to be in fast motion and was difficult to remember exactlly what just happened.
Good luck to all this year and from the looks of the board there are a lot of firsts. Trad lives on...
