Gene and I will not be attending the ESOS in Harrisburg, Pa. as featured speakers this year unless show management reverses their decision and supports our 2nd. Amendment Rights. My apologies to all we were looking forward to seeing and speaking with. Thanks for your support. BW
Hope all of us can support Barry and Gene for dropping out of The Eastern Sportsman Show in Pa.. As we all know how much they give to our Trad Sport. This show was one of the largest sportsman show in the country and was not cheap to have a booth. They dropped out by defending our 2nd amendment. Please support there business for supporting all of us. Thank you, Craig.
PLEASE NOTE: this is an Admin approved thread

I know this subject is not Trad but thanks to them for standing up for what they believe in. Too many people today do that only when it does not effect them personally or their business. We need more people who stand up for what they believe in no matter what.

Good for you guys..!
And Thank You.

Good for Barry and Gene as well as all the other people and businesses that are dropping out and boycotting that show.I have been keeping up with this for the last couple of days.As of yesterday there were at least 160 different vendors and people that have dropped out.The numbers keep going up as more people and more businesses are stepping up to help protect our 2nd Amendment rights.I am very glad and appreciative to see this thread informing people of what is going on allowed on this forum. Thanks Terry.

Good job guys! Just got done with my weekly phone calls to my congressmen and senators offices...not a very political person...but I vote purely based on historic 2nd Ammendment support and decision making and make it clear to all of them on a weekly basis. It is good to see that businesses and larger groups are recognizing that this proposed ban is not about protecting kids at all and just an opportune time to exercise "their" ultimate goal of a complete ban. Thank you for stepping up at a great sacrifice!
-
Good for them. Unfortunately were all in for a tough battle.
-
I was also not be attending this year
-
3 major sponsors Outdoor World, Comcast and Progressive Insurance. Only one left, Progressive Insurance and the talk is they are the ones that told the promoters, Reed Expo, to ban all tactical weapons. If you do some research on the CEO you will know why.

The list is growing. A line in the sand has been drawn. Kudos to those who decided to pull out and support OUR 2nd Amendment.
-
Thank you for standing up for our rights!
-
thank you very very much...progressive insurance is a dangerous company..most of the money goes to anti american..i dropped them about 5 years ago..
if you have them as a insurance co you need cancel them an tell them why..i did..
-
Wow. This is interesting. Never thought I would see the day that big names would drop out of an event like this. I'm happy many are sticking together on this important topic. These are scary times, especially for us New Yorkers!
-
Peter Lewis, owner of Progressive Ins., like George Soros, will do everything their Billions of dollars can to bring about our Kings ultimate gun confiscation plan.
This was Obamas plan from the beginning and he intended to push it hard if given a second term. Now he has nothing to fear from trying to force it on the country.
It's gonna be a long fight for the next 4 years, and we have to be unrelenting in our efforts.
This boycott is a start, but it will take the effort of everyone not just the vendors.
We made the choice to go to Denver and Salt Lake City this year instead of Harrisburg for the very reason of this boycott.
Thanks to all who also choose to stand for the constitution!!!!!!
-
Thanks for standing up for all of us! I need to start paying more attention to where my money goes.
-
Our founding fathers thought that Americans should be citizens and not subjects. That's why the SECOND amendment to the constitution (not the third or the tenth or the nineteenth - but the SECOND) provided us with the right to keep and bear arms. Following only the right to freedom of speech is the guarantee that we as citizens can keep and bear arms.
Good for the Wensels and all the others who have cancelled their attendance to this show. Screw the organizers. Let them move to Switzerland.
From my cold dead hands (Molon Labe)

I agree with the above posts. It's time to take a stand. Gary

It is good to see these dealers to put their patriotism ahead of thier pocket book thanks so much.
-
The 2nd amendment is not a provision for hunting. It is
Not a measure to provide protection from our foreign neighbors either. It is to protect free citizens from the government.
Thank you Gene and Barry. Thank you Trad Gang for allowing it here.
I am a saved by Grace free American!
-
Thanks to all who are committed to preserving our rights and freedoms, for standing tall and sending a strong message to those who want to take those rights and freedoms away!

FROM ESOS WEBSITE....
"Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show - Update - January 24, 2013
Reed Exhibitions has decided to postpone, for now, the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show given the controversy surrounding its decision to limit the sale or display of modern sporting rifles (also called ARs) at the event. The show was scheduled to take place February 2-10 in Harrisburg, PA.
“Our original decision not to include certain products in the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show this year was made in order to preserve the event’s historical focus on the hunting and fishing traditions enjoyed by American families,” said Chet Burchett, Reed Exhibitions President for the Americas. “In the current climate, we felt that the presence of MSRs would distract from the theme of hunting and fishing, disrupting the broader experience of our guests. This was intended simply as a product decision, of the type event organizers need to make every day.
“It has become very clear to us after speaking with our customers that the event could not be held because the atmosphere of this year’s show would not be conducive to an event that is designed to provide family enjoyment. It is unfortunate that in the current emotionally charged atmosphere this celebratory event has become overshadowed by a decision that directly affected a small percentage of more than 1,000 exhibits showcasing products and services for those interested in hunting and fishing.
“ESS has long been proud to participate in the preservation and promotion of hunting and fishing traditions, and we hope that as the national debate clarifies, we will have an opportunity to consider rescheduling the event when the time is right to focus on the themes it celebrates.”
-
I called my congressman today, I think we all should become envolved in this debate one way or another.

The whole their gonna take away are guns bs. In thirty years I have yet to have the sheriff knock on my door or receive a letter to turn in my guns. This is a straw man issue and fearmongering at it's finest.
-
Don't move to New york or Connecticut and you can keep saying that.
..read some news sometime.
I'm sorry..but when you come on to this site and your first posts are here..on this topic..and this is what you have to say...?
I personally question your motives to be on this site....sure as heck doesn't seem to be to talk about trad bow hunting...
-
My point exactly! This has nothing to do with trad bows!

well, you pretty much missed the point of this forum - which is specifically not targeted to be just about trad bowhunting, but hunting in general. it appears that you don't realize nor understand how some political factions are attempting to take away any and all weapons from all americans. but that's ok, we're here to help you understand how your rights are endangered, no one's looking to pick a fight with you, we just want you to see the facts and make up yer own mind.

Too bad he didnt start off on Powwow

lol

without a doubt, that person could very well have been a troll and/or a peta shill. it's the anonymity of the internet, so who really knows for sure? a moot point, as now he/she/whatever is now gone from trad gang and hind sight sez that's a good thing.

So whatdya think of them there Bears hey ?
