Just recieved today in the mail from SRTA. I have been saving up for a new one and could not pass this one up. The new Black Creek Banshee.
Forgive the cobwebs on the cieling. Typical bachelor pad. (http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/Bowferd/Picture028.jpg) (http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/Bowferd/Picture026.jpg) (http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/Bowferd/Picture025.jpg) Not even tuned and throws arras like a dart. 10 Degree windchill today and I could only take about an hour out back. Tomorrow is another day.

Hey guys thanks for all the positive comments. John has just recently added this custom bow to his line at SRTA. I believe he even has one of the prototypes left. I was looking at that one real serious but thought it maybe a little heavy for me. I was going to have one made especially for me but this was perfect for my draw lenghth and only a couple #'s lighter in draw weight desired. And I really liked the looks of this one. The woods are Osage & Bacote riser w/ Zebrawood limbs. Brittman the reason I went with the bow was because the characteristics reminded me of the Shrew that you sent me. Same length, similar draw weight, and the forward riser with a slight R/D design. And sticshooter, the osage handle neck knife that you supplied is a real nice match.

That's a nice bow Fredrick! How many bows have you bought in the last year? You are worse than me! You going for a record? What do you consider the best you have tried lately?
-
very nice bow :0)
-
SWEEEET bow! if it's shoots anything like the Sipsey Stick John sent me you're one HAPPY fellow.

Marty, I sold off all the old training wheels and
a awful lot of old collectables that I had including my 118 Louis L'Amour(90% 1st editions) Bantam Collectors series novels. I lightened the load considerably. After picking up a longbow u-finish from Dan Quillian a few years ago, I knew I was hooked. In the last year I've probably adopted 15 bows. That figure is a bit misleading because most were for my grandkids. I now have 8 and like them all. It's real hard to state which I like the best because 3 are so new. Believe me when I say I'm done for awhile. This new one needs to be tuned a bit as the arrows I have been using are stiff even w/200 up front. I'm waiting for new shafts to arrive and then will tune up the Banshee, the Sabertooth, and the GN Ghost that you sent me. All three are in the 50# range and the 2217's and 5575's seem a trifle stiff. Good to hear from you. Fred

Congrats on the new bow, there's nothing like it. And I like your collection of books on guns.

That is a beautiful work of art :archer:

Fred ,
Try 2016s with 125-150 up frount out of your 50lb longbows. 2016s with 125 grains up frount fly like darts out of my 50lb Hummingbird longbow and recurve . They also shot perfect out of the Shrew I sold you , give them a try.

Great looking bow. I am really starting to like the bocote/osage combination in risers.
-
Hera, I'm just learning. And it is a beautiful work of crafstsmanship.
Hothap,Thanks, been thru IL on many occasions. Where is Chebanse?
Jager, the book case is going up for auction Feb. 23, I'm moving to a desolate location in the hills and it will not fit in with the decor.
Besides that I have to recoop from all the grankids bows, and let's not even discuss the price of gloves, arrows, quivers ETC. ETC. ETC.
JC, new bow offered by SRTA. A very reputable sponsor here. I think I like it.
Joe M, Books are also going up for auction Feb. 23, to help pay for some of my bad habits.
over&under, Black Creek built it to SRTA specs, and yes the lines are tight.
Dean, Absolutely, Positively, Wonderful!!!
Sonoftexas, "better than the shooter"
Elk Ninja, this is one sweet bow.
Bayoulongbowman, I don't know what # you pull, but John had a 59# @28" prototype for sale that I loved the looks of. But I'm a 50-55# kinda guy.
If you are interested, look him up. You will not bge disappointed.
Sticshooter, My oldest son David has already claimed first dibbs, With all these grandkids, if they are not interested you are definitely # 15 in line.
pseman, you are right, what a beautiful combination of woods. Now all I have to do is hide it in the closet when I know the kids are coming over.
It is way past bedtime, thanks for the response. I'll ceck back tomorrow. TGIS!

Bowf, thats a nice-lookin' bow. I'm also partial to the 'Shrew-style' bows, along with Hill styles. And I'll second the comment re your book collection, and bookcase.
Cobwebs? I just thought you owned a Black Widow... :)

Congrats on a beautiful bow. Gotta love that wood combo.
Not a good day to tune unless you can shoot inside. 9 below in Fremont this morning.
