Title: Oconee Dan knows his stuff
Post by: Ray Hammond on February 23, 2008, 11:57:00 PM: I made my first knife Friday. Thanks to Dan Masson, what likely would have been a mediocre effort became an unbelievable(to me) work of functional art.

Having someone with Dan's skills to guide me on my first knife was a tremendous experience and has set me on the path to building knives in earnest.

Thanks, Dan for the great guidance, and opening your home to a stranger!

I had a really good time, and Ray is very detail oriented. His knife turned out very nice as did his sheath. I know it'll be bloodied up soon!

I have always enjoyed a well made knife and this example of Ray's work is simply outstanding! I'm going to have to get in line and get one myself at some point. Nice job Ray!
