Title: Getting rid of brow tine?

I have some antlers I want to use for knives and want to make one from the base of the antler, but it seems like the brow tines get in the way of the handle.

I'm curious how you "handle" this problem. Do you just cut off the brow tine and try to shape the rest of the antler?

I appreciate any suggestions as well as photos.

Yup thats what I would do......If you dont like the way the cut off looks put it on the bottom of the handle or "phase it out into the handle by sanding/filing......Some builders on this forum leave the tines on.  Its really personal prference I think. If the handle feels good with the tine on maybe leave it?  good luck and have fun  :)

I leave them if it isn't in the way. Other than that I cut them off and smooth the antler. Here are a couple of examples of leaving and cutting.
