Title: Indian/Pakistani Damascus
Post by: skullworks on March 12, 2008, 11:20:00 AM
I see alot of blades coming in from India/Pakistan and was curious if anyone had any experience with them or if they are any good? Most I see tout 250 - 50 layers in them and a RC of 50-55. Love to hear some input.

Garbage mostly. Far too soft to take & hold a good edge & the extensive use of plain, mild steel means that you can't even increase the hardness by re-quenching.
If you want to have a play with some 'mascus, try either twofingerknife.Llc (Ee-bay shop)or Alabama Damascus Blades for either blade blanks or damascus bar stock.
