Title: how to restore an old classic?

I have an old Case knife I found while wondering 30 years ago that I'd like to restore. it's been hanging around long enough now I figure it deserves a second chance. It has some rust on the blade with some light pitting. I used jelly to lift the rust and it worked fairly well. I then hit it with some polish and elbow grease but it still seems dull.

Can anyone give me some tips on restoring the the blade to as original as possible?

Brent,
You're probably going to have to go to buffing compounds at this point if you're looking to get back to that chrome shine that the older knives came with.
Otherwise, keep using finer & finer grit (up to 6000) wet/dry paper with windex as the lubricant. Then polish out with flitz or simichrome.

Just for safety I'd also knock the edge off until the polishing was done then re sharpen.
