Title: Did somebody say sawblade?
Post by: Doug Campbell on March 29, 2008, 10:54:00 AM
I've seen lots of questions and comments on sawblade steel, here's some good stuff. The blade behind me is 60" across and 5/32" thick. I found this at a local sawmill where they have at least two more by the way. I started with half a blade like this 20 years ago, you can't imagine how many blades there are in one of these. Now you know what to look for   ;)

I didn't figure you did anything "half" way, Doug, even if it was just starting out. -   :D

Mighty impressive saw blade, reminds me of the old sawmills in NH when I was growing up.

Frank's been using some from a blade almost that big. I think it was 54" when we started cuttin. I still have half of it in my wood shed. I'll be donating some for the St. Judes auction this year again.
