Ok, to save burning down my house forging in my fireplace i want to build a small forge. I am going to build a very simple kiln brick forge and use my propane torch.
Where do you guys get your Kiln bricks and how much do they cost?

I'll second Darren. Been buying supplies from him for the past few years. Never a problem or complaint.

Wouldn't kiln bricks used by clay/ceramic artists work? This place has them alot cheaper. The ones listed are rated to 2300 degrees. http://www.mcgillswarehouse.com/ItemsList.aspx?groupID=12211&GN=INSULATINGBRICKS
Maybe this could be another source. Maybe you have an artists supply house close to home. Could save on shipping.
Just my 2 cents.....

I bought mine for ~$2 each off fleabay a few years back and have been handing them out ever since. I'm just about out now though :(
The best price I've seen commercially has been right around what Brock has posted.

If you ever get into Memphis, you can pick them up at Insulation & Refractory Services on Decatur in Midtown. They are used to selling huge lots to big companies but I've bought just a few bricks or a small roll of Insuwool and they sold it to me no problem.
