Once again Lin is in a major knife mag "Blade". You sir are a MASTER at your craft and and I'm sure we are all honored to have you post your wealth of knowledge here. Thanks!

Awesome, I'll have to run out and find it in the stand! Good job Lin!

Saw the one where he was taking the Master(?) Bladesmith test. Is that the same one? Lin deserves all the recognition! Great job!

That would have to be the issue unless he was in 2 months in a row.......which with his talent could easily be.

Yes it is a article about him taking his Masters test. Sorry if it's a double post but I thought the other thread was about a article in "Knifes Illustrated". I didn't see that article but caught this one in Blade Mag. Might be the same article though.

I have seen two different articles in the past several months. the newest showed him holding the knife that broke right at the 90 degree bend during the test.

Congrats!

No, it's a different article........... showing the cracked blade in all it's glory!
It performed great up to that point. I cut
12- 2 X 4's in half, several one inch ropes, and some water bottles and it still shaved hair. I know what the problem was and will make the needed adjustments.
I actually gave Steve Shackleford my blessing to tell the unvarnished truth about the test. I figured it would be better for all, including me. I should have another test knife ready soon. I'm eligible to take it again next month.
Thanks, Lin

I've read that like six times now and can't help but think heck I've had hand saws that didn't last 12 2x 4's can't believe they expect a knife to bend 90 degrees without breaking, is that really realistic in a knife? Yeah I've had a hatchet that could do that but still shave hair afterwards? I guess this comes from a guy who respects a knife and only uses it for cutting! Still blows me away what you have done Lin! My hat is off to you!

Folks,
I saw him win a cutting competition in Atlanta, and how he punished one of those knives. Them boys will do all they can to one and still shave closer than store bought razors.
