Got to do these every now and then to stay sharp!
I forged this from a 7/8" piece of W1 and gave it a nice clay coated heat treating - nice hamon!
I actualy was unhappy with the piece of blackwood I started out with and dug around in my handle material safe and found a piece of Ebony I'll bet I've had five years. I'm glad I looked in there!
Fixed assembly. Polished "bolster" and spine, with etched and hand-rubbed (1500) flats.
Should make a really nice every-day companion!
See it in Atlanta!
