I just bought this knife that Rick Dumas made.
Rick was tired of flint knives breaking, but liked the look, so he took and air hammer to a damascus blade.
From Rick: I made this steel flint blade from damascus..Started out with a very nice pattern but lost most of the pattern when I gave it the knapped look..5 3/4" blade with antiqued brass guard and butt cap..Handle is made from a mule deer antler,I think..Handle runs around 4 1/2"..

Wow. THATS cool! I saw something similar to that in a British bushcrafter site not too long ago, but I really like that a lot.

I just bought this second one from him a few days ago, Rick is pretty darn good.
Rick: Something a little different,made from 1095 steel 6" blade..With a 5 1/2" antler handle..I gave the blade a knapped look as best I could anyways..

This may be a stupid question, but how well does it cut?

I posted some pics for Rick in the past. I'll have to see if I still have them and give everybody a look see.
The man sure does have some talent. Those blades are SAWEEET!

I haven't received either one yet..hopefully I will have both by Wednesday.
Rick knows his knives and I have a great Damascus one from him. I'm sure they will both be VERY sharp. I don't anticipate any problems field dressing deer with them.

Here is another one of Rick's knives. Enjoy!
